Intros are always boring I think.
You follow someone on Instagram already and see their everyday life in stories & squares. Sometimes they share from the moment they wake & every single excruciating morsel of next 14 or so hours until they go to bed…
Example Instagrammers Day:
*warning: tongue-in-cheek content β οΈβ οΈβ οΈ
- {insert positive/motivational morning quote on lightbox/pinboard};
- a fairly grey boomerang of their walk to work in the British rain;
- a standard coffee-mug-on-desk photo with questionable looking banana next to it;
- a few selfies about how they can’t wait to get home already;
- a cute post-it note on desk from co-worker;
- snap of lunch food before eating it with filter on;
- a “naughty” afternoon snack snap telling us “diets out the window then”;
- a few more selfies (this time with headset on or pen in hand) explaining again, how they can’t wait to get home;
- boomerang “cheers” with colleagues having an after work drink;
- the commute home including a privacy-neglecting image of a poor fellow commuter caught either picking their nose or with socks on that the Instagrammer doesn’t approve of;
- a shiny looking snap of their dinner cos they need the cooker hood light on to see it;
- and finally a boomerang of them watching tv with a cup of tea tagged at “my cosy home” or similar stating “Night Night Insta”.
We are all guilty of these types of posts, so what more is there to know about people?
I’ll give it a bash anyway.
I’m Leanne, 27 from Scotland and my other half is Derek, 30-something from Ireland residing and paying the bills currently in Manchester! We have a little milky monster called Leo, who was born here in Manchester and was the catalyst for buying a house out of the city. A question we get asked often is how we met; Derek went to Uni in Edinburgh and we met on a night out (in the wee hours of the morning as they say). Nothing exotic but there you go π.
We moved to Manchester in June 2013 when I got a promotion at work and we have been here ever since! I work in travel and Derek in engineering. My job requires me to work away regularly (so you might see a few hotel room snaps) but I’m currently on Mat Leave since August so whilst I’m enjoying staying at home in my own bed, I’m not getting much sleep with a baby in the house π.
We have absolutely no experience in DIY, decorating or interior styling whatsoever and have even less in baby-rearing π.
We bought our first house last year, a Gosford by Taylor Wimpey hence the blog name. I spent a lot of time researching home insta pages particularly ones of the Gosford home type to give me an impression of how our home would look when built.
There are some brilliant pages who I pay homage to for giving me such inspiration everyday. If I can give even a fraction of that to others, I’ll be happy π!
